Meet the Chiropractor

Hello, my name is Mike Dawson and I am a chiropractor who has served Indio and the surrounding Coachella Valley communities since 1991.

Thank you for your interest of Dawson Chiropractic.  I feel fortunate to be involved with the health care of so many patients over the past 23 years.  I was initially interested after hurting my lower back as a teenager during a snow ski injury.  I found rapid relief with treatment and felt a sense of increased performance due to having my spine properly aligned.  My mother found relief from her chronic headaches and my father reported increased flexibility while golfing due to chiropractic care.  I pursued chiropractic as a sort of calling to help others and I am grateful daily for that choice.

I use traditional, hands on chiropractic care to improve the health and wellness in all areas of patient's lives.  Common problems of back pain, neck pain, or other joint pain are my specialties.  Some of my patients just want to start feeling better when they wake up in the morning or be able to partisipate in their favorite activitie.  A "whole person" approach is utilized at my practice, which means I looking for the underlying causes of disease, discomfort, and pain, as opposed to just treating the symptoms. After a through history, examination and possible x-rays, I will be able to determine the root of the pain and create a personalized chiropractic and wellness plan to suit each patient's individual needs.

  • An Apple a Day . . .

What is so good about an apple? Is it the color, ranging from ruby red to pale pink? Is it the crunch? The sweetness? Or is it, instead, a combination of all of these qualities, plus the natural goodness derived from the apple's secret ingredients — phytonutrients? If this were a multiple choice quiz, the answer would be "all of the above". Importantly, in addition to possessing numerous appealing physical qualities, apples contain an abundance of health-promoting biochemicals known as phytonutrients.1,2 These specific organic molecules are derived not only from apples but many other fresh fruits and vegetables, and help power the immune system, protect against cancer, maintain healthy eyes, and assist cells in clearing out metabolic waste products such as free radicals. ...
